(Battersea Press Release) Staffordshire Bull Terriers at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home are practicing their best smiles in hopes of finding a new and loving home. Roxy and Kye are posed for the cameras ahead of International Day of Happiness on Sunday 20 March.
Four-year-old Kye (below) was given up to Battersea due to his owner’s allergies and is hoping that his beaming smile will win over a new owner whilst beautiful Roxy is a wonderful example of her breed.
Roxy absolutely adores people and can be often be seen sitting in her kennel with the widest grin in hopes of enticing someone for a tummy scratch.
The six-year-old was gifted into the charity due to her owners separating and is looking for a home where she can get as many cuddles as she can get and curl up next to you on the sofa.
Both dogs are adorable and are great ambassadors for their breed. Staffordshire Bull Terriers are people orientated, obedient, intelligent, and highly affectionate dogs who were originally bred as nanny dogs as they are so good with children.
Battersea’s Head of Dog Rehoming Robert Young said “Here at Battersea we love Staffies and we’re determined to show just how amazing these dogs really are.
Both Kye and Roxy arrived through no fault of their own and we’re keen to see them find a perfect happy ending. Who could resist those massive smiles?”
Battersea Dogs & Cats Home launched their ‘Staffies. They’re softer than you think’ Campaign in 2011, challenging the negative perceptions linked with the breed.
As well as encouraging dog owners to see their ‘softer side’ and rehome a rescue Staffie from one of their three centres, they’ve also partnered with 16 smaller rescues, getting the message out nationally.
