I’m delighted to be part of this very special day for one of my favourite animal charities The Mayhew Animal Home.
The Mayhew’s Hyde Bark event is a fundraiser which will be held in London’s most famous park to raise money for the homeless dogs, cats and rabbits the charity cares for.
The Mayhew, in North West London, was chosen as one of the charities to benefit from the support of the Lord Mayor of Westminster, Cllr Suzie Burbridge, who will host the Hyde Park event in April.
In order to welcome all to spend the day at Hyde Bark, The Mayhew has organised a day of pet-themed fun for children, adults, pet owners and animal lovers alike.
Not only has stylish and scrumptious refreshments been arranged for the visitors, but a gourmet biscuit bar and ice cream van will be in attendance for canine visitors only!
Funds for the charity, based in Kensal Green, will be raised through the variety of stalls and the Diamond Dog Show and Jubilead Sponsored Walk, which pay homage to the Queen’s upcoming celebrations.
There’s even an Olympups agility arena for those dogs –and owners – who are feeling athletic.
When: Sunday 15th April 2012 10am-6pm
Where: Hyde Park, ‘The Old Football Pitches’, Royal Albert Hall side.
Diamond Dog show: Registration from 9.30am. Starts at 10.30am
Jubilead Sponsored walk: Registration from 11am. Walk starts at 1.45pm.
Mayhew Events Officer, Lisa Houlihan, said: “We hope to welcome many people for a pet-themed event that promises to be a fantastic day for all the family. Enter your pooch in our fun ‘Diamond Dogs’ dog show and browse the fabulous stalls spending money to help The Mayhew’s homeless dogs, cats and rabbits.
Hyde Bark promises great afternoon activities, celebrity vet advice, book signings, vet demonstrations, OlymPUPS agility and lots more!
People will also have the chance to meet some of The Mayhew dogs looking for new homes. Save the date for a purrrrrfect day out. You’d be barking mad to miss it!”
